Once upon a time cities were all becoming the same. Every day investment conglomerates
erected block after block of anonymous buildings. The people felt anonymous. One day
groups of people in Berlin came together to do things differently, by building the
city themselves. Because of that the city started changing to a place where people
felt part of things. Because of that more and more people from around the world
came to Berlin to live and work, until finally cities around the world stopped
being investment objects and became once again unique and distinct places.
During the last few months we have been working around the clock to launch our new development project FRIZZ23. We are adapting the Berlin Baugruppen-model to create a building with an exciting mixture of cultural and commercial uses. This project will be built on the values and theories we explore in this blog. We are still looking for a few people to complete the group. If you are interested in being part of this co-operative ownership model, you can find more information on FRIZZ23.com, or in last week's Bauwelt (issue 16|13) which features FRIZZ23 on the cover.
On May 15th Matthew will be presenting FRIZZ23 and the processes behind it in a short lecture at the IBA 2020 Workshop Mehr Stadt in der Stadt at the Zollgarage, Tempelhof Airport, Berlin 17:00 – 20:00.
